In continuation to my telecon of day before yesterday, I would like to inform you that the Rajyostsava award is loosing its importance and many undeserving people are getting the same due to caste, influence, political connections as also other criteria.
I have tried to get the Rajyostava award to Centenarian freedom fighter Pandit Sudhakar Chaturvedi. Some of the important facts about Sri. Chaturvedi are as below.
*Born on Ramnavami day of 1897, he is the sole surviving eye witness for Jalian Wala Bagh massacre
*He is a bachelor who has adopted a Harijan as son
*Though he is eligible for both Central and State pention given to freedom fighters, he has not accepted it.
*He had participated in the freedom movement actively and had sufferred imprisonment for 13 years
*He was a contemporary of Gandhiji, Subhas, Nehru, and had associated with Tilak, Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, Chandarshekara Azad, Savarkar,Bipin Chandra pal and many other such towerly extraordinary personalities of freedom movement.
*He has translated Vedas to Kannada and delivers speech on Vedas daily.
The above is only a brief biodata of Sri. Chaturvedi.
I have personally spoken to JAYANAGAR MLA. Sri Chaturvedi lives at 5th Block, Jayanagar, Had also spoken to Malleswaram MLA personally and to an MLC over phone. Had also given letter to CM and to the director of Kannada & Culture Manu Baligar, but all in vain. Also other attempts are also made through a powerful organisation which has got influence on the present state government and sorry to state that even this effort also did not suceed.
