Prathima nataka ranga has been active in amateur Kannada theatre since 1970s. Well known play-writes and critics like P.Lankesh, Dr. K.Marulasiddappa, T.N.Seetharam, Ki.Ram. Nagaraj and others founded Prathima Nataka Ranga, thus giving a boost to the modern theatre movement. Later on, Kannada plays and books on play criticism were published through Prathima Nataka Prakaashana.
Now, Prathima Ranga Samshodhana Prathishtana is actively involved in popularising locality theatre activities. As a part of this programme, the troupe is putting up a Kannada play ‘Santheyolagondu Maneya Maadi’ written, designed & directed by veteran theatre person MC Anand at ‘Ranga Shankara’ on 26th May 2010 at 7.30 pm.
It is a hilarious comedy dealing with the burning issue of global recession and the resultant wide spread unemployment and misery. The play is remotely inspired by Neil Simon’s English play ‘The prisoner of second avenue’.
|Venue :||Ranga Shankara, JP Nagar II Stage, Bengaluru-560 078|
The play has already seen five shows at various localities of Bengaluru and has been well received by the audience and critic.
