Fickle rain washes away Sunday revellers’ plans TOI
TIMES NEWS NETWORK
Bangalore

Rolli Agarwal’s plan for an outing on Sunday with friends was washed out as heavy rain lashed her Malleswaram locality in the afternoon. This PR manager’s friends, though, managed to have a fun outing on Church Street where Bangalore’s characteristic weather prevailed all day, with a strong hint of rain but none falling.
The hide-and-seek played by rain ruined many a Ban

galorean’s plan. Banaswadi resident Ravi K thought it won’t rain and went on an outing. But rain literally stopped the techie in his tracks near Hudson Circle and he was stuck for over an hour before he decided it was wiser to return home.
Local variation in the monsoon ensured that places like Jayanagar, Residency Road, Hudson Circle and Majestic received heavy rainfall, while other areas in the city, including Electronic City and MG Road remained dry despite overcast conditions. The rainy spell did not last longer than 30 minutes.

Also, it did not impede vehicular traffic, given that it was a holiday.

The readings at the three stations where the Met office records rainfall were proof of the extent of variation.

Till 8.30 pm, the city received 4.6 mm rainfall, HAL airport 0.2 mm, Kempegowda International Airport 1.2 mm and Yelahanka 0.8 mm.

next two days are likely to be cloudy as well, predicted the Met office. The rainfall will be more at night, said the weather officials. The skies will be overcast at all times over the city.
